Stuart Eatmon Sr. won the election for the Marengo County Coroner position, picking up 68.7 percent of the votes.

Eatmon ran an incumbent democratic ticket against his opponent Chris Petrey who ran as an independent.

Eaton won handily in the most of Marengo County but the two split the vote almost fifty-fifty in Demopolis. Petrey carried 1,163 votes while Eatmon edged him out by five votes with 1,168.

The vote changed very little as the ballots can in last night with Eatmon carrying a little under 80 percent in most voting locations. The exception of Demopolis pulled the percentages closer toward the end of the race but had no real effect on the outcome.
