Linden High Patriots working hard to succeed on hardwood

LINDEN &045; The year 2006 will be a good test for the Linden High Patriots this year. The have the talent that will be out to prove themselves. Though basketball practice has been hampered by football in most schools, head coach Eddie Armstead has started to prepare the Patriots for the long haul.

The Patriots have the arsenal to run. They will incorporate an offense that will be conducive to their speed. Linden has four seniors on the squad. Their experience will be needed.

Junior power forward Sean Richardson is expected to lead coach Armstead’s team this season. His brother Darnell Richardson, a senior will also be called upon to step up and provide leadership for the squad. Kadarius Goodwell will help play a leadership roll as well.

S. Richardson and Goodwell will be the key to Linden’s success during the games. They will be looked upon for a consistent effort every night.

Myron Rogers, who is a senior, will be a player to keep an eye on, because he is what coach Armstead calls &8216;an hidden agenda’.

Coach Armstead led Linden to an area championship last year. They lost to J.F. Shield in the quarterfinals. They finished the year with a 17-4 record.

The Patriots, who has a record of 1-1 this season, will return to the hardwood tomorrow when they host the Maplesville Red Devils in an area match up.
