Georgia Lee Johnson

DEMOPOLIS &045; Georgia Lee Johnson, 77 of Demopolis, Alabama died on December 11, 2006 in Gadsden. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Bellamy. The Rev. Robert Pearce Sr. officiated. Interment followed in Dugg Hill Cemetery in Coatopa. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the

arrangements. Survivors include ten children, Mary Floyd of Dayton, Ohio, Georgia Hart of Dayton, Ohio, Elizabeth Johnson of Gadsden, Loverta Johnson and Deborah Johnson; five sons, Ronnie Johnson of Demopolis, Tommie Johnson, Donnie Johnson of Demopolis, Samuel Lane of Albertville and George Johnson of Demopolis; 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Pinkie Dozier of Boston, Mass., Mary Jane Ward of Bellamy, Sopinia Johnson of Hempstead, N.Y., Dwight Rogers of Brooklyn, N.Y and Earlie Rogers of Birmingham; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Queenie Perry

DEMOPOLIS &045; Queenie Perry, 95 of Demopolis died on December 9, 2006 in D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services were held at 12 noon Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the New Morning Star Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Willie Williams officiated. Interment followed in Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her daughter, Christine Jones of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren, Queenie Barnes, Yvonne Barnes and William Jones, all of Cleveland, Ohio; a guardian and caretaker, Lois Wilson of Demopolis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jerry J. Lowe

DEMOPOLIS &045; Jerry J. Lowe, 70 of Demopolis died on December 8, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 12 noon on Friday, December 15, 2006 at the Christian Chapel Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Freddie Moore is the pastor. The Rev. Frank Charleston officiated. Interment followed with Full Military Rites in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Demopolis. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Lowe was a Navy Veteran for over 32 years. He was also a member of the Two Million Miles Club having served as an owner/operator with Poole Truck Lines.

Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Lowe of Demopolis; one son, Franklin Taylor of Norfolk, Va.; five daughters, Glendora McClain, Demopolis, Bernadette Ingram of Tuscaloosa, Elmyra J. Lowe of Demopolis, Catherine Howard of San Antonio, Texas and Marguerite T. Lowe of Montgomery; one sister, Geraldine Johnson of Kansas City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, Thomas McKinley of Demopolis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lois G. Chatman

CHICAGO &045; Lois G. Chatman, 81 of Chicago, a former native of Gallion died on December 11, 2006 in Chicago. Graveside funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at the Mount Cannan Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Rev. John Watkins officiated. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

Her husband Willie Chatman of Chicago and cousin of the late Ora Shade of Gallion survive her. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Helen McNealey

DEMOPOLIS &045; Helen McNealey, of Demopolis died on December 13, 2006 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Richard Fountain will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis. The remains will repose at the church at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis are in charge of the arrangements.

Harriet Lawson George

DEMOPOLIS &045; Harriet Lawson George, 100 of Demopolis died on December 15, 2006 at Colonial Haven Health Care in Greensboro. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the John The Baptist Church, 1195 Sparks Road, Gallion, Ala. The Rev. Jerome Burrell will officiate. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin&Scott funeral directors of Demopolis are in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her two children, Andrew George III of Penacook, N.H. and Laura George Foster of Demopolis; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; eight nephews; five nephews; other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Francis Allen Crawford

MARION &045; Francis Allen Crawford, 67 of Marion died on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Vaughn Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Marion United Methodist Church with the Revs. Dr. Larry Teasley and Dr. Paul Reitzer officiating. Interment will be held in Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel.

Francis Allen Crawford was born on January 17, 1939 at Morgan Springs.

His parents were Eugene and Lucille Hannah Crawford, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Miller Crawford of Marion; two sons, Stewart Hughey of Marion, Tim Hughey of Centreville; one sister, Geneva Carmichael of Kennesaw, Ga.; two brothers, James Crawford of Marion, Cecil Crawford of Marion, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Marshall Hughey, John Crawford, Allen Ham, Thomas Coleman, Corin Harrison, Kenneth Brewer and John Anderson.

DEMOPOLIS &045; Harrison Carter Sr., of Demopolis died on December 15, 2006 in Gallion. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Charlie Moore is the pastor. The Rev. Nathaniel Carter will officiate. Interment will follow in Limestone Cemetery in Gallion. Larkin&Scott funeral directors of Demopolis will be in charge of the arrangements.

Rufus Julian Etheredge

SWEET WATER &045; Rufus Julian Etheredge, 75 of Sweet Water died on December 17, 2006 at his home. Funeral services were held at Aimwell Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 with the Revs. Lon Baxter, Fred Wiley and Morgan Flowers officiating. Burial was in the Aimwell Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.

He was born on December 26, 1930 in Aimwell. He was a farmer and a retired mail carrier. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Aimwell Baptist Church.

His wife, Jane Alice Etheredge; one son, Andy Wayne Etheredge; one grandson and a devoted friend, Sidney Rodgers Jr., all of Sweet Water, survive him.

Pallbearers were Stanley Etheridge, Milton Etheridge, Danny Flowers, Sim Lewis, James Tensley and Peter Frank McGilberry.

Honorary pallbearers were: Dixie Mayton, Haywood Mayton Jr., Jeffrey Mayton, Regan Daniels, Jerry Harrington, Clarence Washington, Herman Tensely, Henri Etheridge, J.D. Flowers, Willie Cabanis, Grady Martin, Ken Williamson and staff of Sweet Water Post Office. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville was in charge of the arrangements.
