Willie Vernon Bennett

MARION &045; Funeral services for Willie Vernon Bennett, 88, of Marion, who died on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006 at UAB, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006 at Siloam Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel. Interment will be at Calvary Baptist Church. Dr. Mark Tew will officiate.

Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion are in charge of the arrangements.

Her first husband, Mike Holifield, her son, Larry Holifield and her second husband, Wilson Bennett, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her two daughters, Evelyn Blake of Montevallo and Janice Wiley of Mercedes, Texas; one son, Claude Holifield of San Diego, Texas; five sisters, Maude Holifield of Marion, Cecile Hulgan of Tuscaloosa, Ellen Beecham of Lexington, Ky., Frances Camp of New Orleans, La. and Catherine Rinehart of McCalla; seven grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Herbert Clayton Hill

DEMOPOLIS &045; The Rev. Herbert Clayton Hill, Sr., 87, of Demopolis died on to Sunday, November 26, 2006.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., tonight, Nov. 28, 2006 at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home in Demopolis.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at The First United Methodist Church in Demopolis with Dr. Art Luckie and the Revs. Charles Walker and Reba Wiley officiating. Internment will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Dixons Mills.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Polly Hasty Hill of Demopolis; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Scott Edwards of Nashville; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Happel Terrell of Huntsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Brenda Hill of Indian Springs; a son and daughter-in-law, Herb and Lisa Hill of Chattanooga, Tenn., nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one sister, Dean Hill Gavin of Mobile.

His parents, Sam and Dora Hill of Dixons Mills; two brothers, Gray Hill of Dixons Mills and Raymond Hill of Grove Hill and one grandson, Ryan Collins of Chattanooga, Tenn, preceded him in death.

The Rev. Hill was a native of Dixons Mills and a resident of Demopolis since his retirement from active ministry in the United Methodist Church in 1984. He was the pastor of churches in Coatopa, Thomaston, Hurtsboro, Centerville, Florala, Butler, Pritchard, Linden, Hartford and Camden, over a 29-year period, prior to his retirement.

He served Coatopa and Cokes Chapel in word for 16 years after his retirement.

Pallbearers will be Earl Ward, David Edwards, Bradley Sadler, Jonathan Sadler, Clayton Hill, Chad Carter, Jason Hill and Reggie Collins.

The family of the Rev. Hill request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Demopolis Building Fund or the charity of your choice.

Roger Gordon Nichols

VANCE &045; Roger Gordon Nichols, 44, o f Vance died on Nov. 21, 2006 in Vance. Funeral services were held for Nichols on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel. The Revs. James Water Jr. and Joe Bob Muzell officiated. Interment was made in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

His daughter, Bernice Nichols of Nauvoo; one son, Kalton Nichols of Nauvoo; one brother, Steve Nichols of Grove Hill and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Gene Nichols of Marion, survived Vance.

Pallbearers were Todd Lavender, Wendell Johnson, Eric Falls, William Hill, Jimmy Lavender and Glynward Coley.

Reba Snow Lolley

LINDEN &045; Reba Snow Lolley, 77, of Linden died on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Funeral services were held at Linden Baptist Church on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006. The Revs. Billy Harris and Jerry Gunnells officiated. Burial was at Linden Memorial Park in Linden.

She was born June 22, 1929 in Jasper. She was retired from the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service where she worked as a secretary for 20 years. She was a member of Linden Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school secretary.

Lolley is survived by her husband, Ernest A. Lolley of Linden; two sons, Robert Keith Lolley of Marietta and Charles Richard &8220;Rick&8221; Lolley and wife, Jenise of Van Buren, Ark.; one sister, Dorothy Snow of Jasper; one brother, Cecil Snow and wife, Mary Francis of Columbia; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers were: Danny Baker, James Creel, Robert Breckenridge, Joe Falls, John Mansfield and Dennis Mason.

Honorary pallbearers were: members of Berean Sunday School Class, William Braswell, Brady Creel, Jack Crocker, Ernest &8220;Buddy&8221; Lawrence, Charles Lambrecht and the CSICU nurses of DCH Regional Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Linden Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 Abbott Street, Linden, AL 36748. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden were in charge of the arrangements.

Sarah Sunday Flowers

LINDEN &045; Sarah Sunday Flowers, 70, of Linden died on Friday, November 24, 2006 at Caring Angels Hospice in Gilbertown. Funeral services were held at O’Bryan Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006. The Rev. Ed Pickle officiated. Burial was held at Linden Memorial Park in Linden.

Se was born on July 26, 1936 in Butler. She retired from Marengo Nursing Home, where she was a nurse’s aid.

She was survived by her daughter, Clara Edwards of Demopolis; three sons, James H. Flowers and Rickey Flowers, both of Gilbertown and J.C. Flowers of Linden; one brother, Thomas Crosby of Butler; one sister, Mary Lee Flowers of Butler; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were: Jerry Sikes, Wayne Flowers, Mike Carlisle, Jody Crosby, Jason Crosby and Harry Crosby.

O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Linden was in charge of the arrangements.
