Riley, McCain receive warm welcome in town

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Governor Bob Riley and Arizona Senator John McCain were welcomed into Demopolis with open arms.

The governor was in town to celebrate the Black Belt Action Committee&8217;s second anniversary. Senator McCain had been in Mobile discussing the Air Force&8217;s new tanker issue, and was asked to accompany Riley to Demopolis.

During lunch the governor and senator met with other guests from the city, including Mayor Williamson, who discussed city projects and progress with him.

Mayor Williamson discussed several of the industries that in and around Demopolis.

Senator McCain was really impressed with the city of Demopolis.

After lunch, Governor Riley and Senator McCain, along with the BBAC officials, were scheduled to be at the civic center for the BBAC&8217;s two-year anniversary.

Riley and McCain were greeted at the civic center with a standing ovation and a roar of applause.
