Sunshine smashes McIntosh

The Sunshine Tigers simply rained on the McIntosh Demons&8217; parade last night.

Sunshine quieted the crowd early reaching pay dirt three times in the first half.

Junior quarterback Marcus Lee got things going for the Tigers when he hit junior Justin Wagner for a 38-yard strike for a 6-0 lead.

Senior Robert Lyons would contribute to the scoring with a one-yard plow and with the two-point conversion the Tigers lead grew to 14-0.

The Demons would get on the board on a break-a-way run for 65 yards, cutting their deficit to 14-6. But Sunshine came back to add more to the score before the half ended on a Calvin Bryant nine-yard run.

After the two-point conversion, the Tigers took a 22-6 advantage into the locker room at the half.

The Demons would score for the final time of the game in the third quarter on the opening drive of the second half. That would get life into the crowd with a 22-14 score.

However, Sunshine wasn&8217;t done. Senior David Carlisle intercepted a pass and returned it for 31 yards for a score. Lyons would add his second touchdown of the game on a nine-yard run. Final score: 34-14.

The Tigers, now 7-3 advances to the second round and will host Wadley on Friday.
