Melissa Jo &8220;Missy&8221; Elmore Scarbrough

DEMOPOLIS &045; Melissa Jo &8220;Missy&8221; Elmore Scarbrough, 46, died Friday April 27, 2007 in Tuscaloosa County.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 3, 2007 at The First Baptist Church of Demopolis with Dr. Allen Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors directing services. After graveside services the Scarbrough family will leave the cemetery and ask that everyone come by their home to visit at 1306 Phil Harper Drive in Demopolis.

The family will receive friends at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Scarbrough has lived in Demopolis since 1972. Her passion was nursing, a desire since childhood and she served in any capacity at the hospital giving her all to the care of the patients and the management of all the departments in which she served.

Scarbrough’s infant son, John Taylor Scarbrough; her mother, Joann Connor Elmore

preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 16 years, John F. Scarbrough of Demopolis; two sons, Dana Hugh Kennedy Scarbrough and Gray Fitzgerald Scarbrough both of Demopolis; her father, Gerald Hugh Elmore of Demopolis; three brothers, Dana Hollis and wife, Donna of Selma, Tim Hollis and wife, Johna of Cartersville, Ga., Philip Hollis and wife, Mona of Loxley; a sister, Jeri

McCreless and husband, Michael of Tuscaloosa a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Horne, Brad Dearman, Joe Daffron, William Gantt, Robert &8220;Bud&8221; Phillips, Erin Sincroft, Cody Scarbrough and John David Farris.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the all the employees and volunteers of Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

The Scarbrough Family will accept flowers or donations may be given to The Oncology Center at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital, c/o Melissa Jo &8220;Missy&8221; Elmore Scarbrough Memorial Fund for indigent cancer patients, P.O. Box 890 Demopolis, AL 36732.
