Brandi McGee did something she and a large number of other pitchers have never done last week. She pitched a perfect game, recording 11 strikeouts in the process.

Though the junior pitcher and third baseman for the Demopolis High School varsity softball team reached a career mark in the team&8217;s, 29-0, victory against Wilcox County in the area tournament, she said she wouldn&8217;t&8217; have been able to do it without the help of her teammates.

McGee, who has played on the varsity team since the eighth grade, is a leader on the team that urges others to raise the bar in their own performances, said coach Joey Browder.
