Daniel Coleman Davis

PENNINGTON &045; Daniel Coleman Davis, 76, died Aug. 6, 2007, at Hale County Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services are set for 4 p.m. today, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Pennington. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Pennington. The officiating clergy is the Rev. Nita Wilborn; Kay Harrell, Joe Tucker, Mike Oliver and Amanda Morris will do the eulogy.

Daniel Coleman Davis was born Aug. 22, 1930 in Gallion. He was a graduate of Demopolis High School in 1949, a University of Alabama alumnus, following being a Korean War veteran. He served on the Pennington Town Council for 25 years, Davis retired from James River in 1996, he was a current member of the E-911 Board, and a leader at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Davis is survived by two daughters, Rhoda Goodman and husband, Randy, of Pennington, Rachel Lindsey and husband, Joe, of Grove Hill; one step-son, Mike Oliver and wife, Linda, of Sandflat; two brothers, Douglas Davis of Montgomery, and J.W. Davis of Birmingham; three sisters, Mackie Moore of Birmingham, Martha Ann Bradley of Orange, Calif.; and Ola Fulton of Bellville, Ill.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Rita Thrash Davis; and also preceded in death by his wife of five months, Hilda Oliver Davis.

Pallbearers were Jason Armstrong, Lee Armistead, Bubba Clark, Agnew Hall, Andy Cooper, Mike Oliver, Jerad Jones, Bubba Loftis and Brian Morris. Honorary pallbearers were Mary Perry, Kim Manley, Patsy Allen, Barbara Chaney, Carol Harrell, Kathy Riley, Gail Lucas and Marilyn Jones.

TUSCALOOSA &045; Louise Rodgers Moseley, 88, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Gallion died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at West Alabama Hospice Helen Hahn Care Center. Funeral services will be10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Gallion Baptist Church with the Rev. Timothy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at St. Andrews Cemetery in Gallion with Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors in charge of services. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 until 9:45 a.m. on Saturday.
