This week officially kicks off the 2007 gridiron season with the beginning of regular season play.

The start of football season is always a community-building event. Parents, teachers, students and other fans gather in the stands to not only support the teams on the field, but also to support other groups taking part in gridiron activities like cheerleaders, band members, beta club members who spend their Friday nights supporting their home team and representing various clubs and organizations.

The Friday night lights also are a time for community members to socialize with a common interest &8212; their schools.
