DIXONS MILLS &8212; Marengo High School&8217;s football team has worked this week to tweak its offense in preparation for today&8217;s game with J.F. Shields High School.

Coach Scottie Jones said he doesn&8217;t know a lot about his group&8217;s opponent for the week, who has dropped their first two games, but he is expecting them to come out strong to put one in the win column for the season.

Jones said Shields&8217; team has a size advantage on his players, but noted his group is likely going to field a smaller team against most of its opponents this season. He said because of this, his group won&8217;t have to prepare much differently.

Jones said his team has worked on changing up its offense though.

Jones said if his group can open up the pass it will help them spread out the larger Shields defense and get better production.
