LINDEN &8212; This season Linden High School head football coach Andro Williams has preached about the importance of good practices.

His group had a bad week of practice that lead to a blowout loss to Sweet Water last week. Williams said the group had a good week of practice leading to Friday&8217;s game against Francis Marion High School, and the results show it.

The Patriots dominated the Rams to a 70-14 victory at home. The Rams&8217; coach Anthony Trimble said he knew what was coming, but his group couldn&8217;t stop it.

Of course there was three and a half minutes where it looked like anyone&8217;s game. Francis Marion scored first on their third play off a 64-yard pass from quarterback Preston Melton to receiver Jarmarcus Billingsley.

The Patriots picked up the pace exactly 12 seconds after the Rams&8217; touchdown, when off their first play Maurice Tate ran it to the house for a 48-yard touchdown. Tate ended up the second leading rusher of the game with 142 yards off nine carries and three touchdowns.

The next touchdown came off a 5-yard run from Linden&8217;s first leading rusher, Darius Fountain, who ran 10 times for 144 yards and three touchdowns. And the Patriots were off to the races.

The groups worked hard through the end of the first quarter all the way to the fourth with 2:14 left when the Rams scored again off a 2-yard run from Deandre Barnett. But by this time, the Patriots had 70 points on the board.

The Linden offense lit up the board both on the ground and through the air, completing seven passes for 117 yards and an interception. Receiver Sean Richardson had three receptions for 53 yards and a rushing touchdown, while receiver Gary Williams caught three passes for 43 yards and added a 50-yard punt return for good measure. The group had 416 yards on the ground and 533 total yards.
