FAYETTE &8212; Henry Jason Thigpen Sr., 89, formerly of Gallion, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, in Fayette. Graveside services will be 11 a.m.

Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Dr. Art Luckie officiating. The family will receive friends at The First United Methodist Church of Demopolis Fellowship Hall after the services. Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors are in charge of the arrangements.

Thigpen was a staff sergeant in the sixth marine division during WWII and participated in several invasions, which led to the Allied Victory. He retired from Skinner Furniture Company in Greensboro and was a member of the First United Methodist of Demopolis.

He is survived by his wife, Lucile Harris Thigpen; two sons, Henry Thigpen and his wife, Linda, Carl Thigpen and his wife, Alice; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild is expected in April 2008; one sister, Erma Williams; one brother, Calvin Crawford; a host of nieces and nephews.
