SWEET WATER – The Bulldogs started out the first round of the 2007 playoffs the same way they finished the regular season with a 68-7 rout of the Providence Christian Eagles.

The Bulldogs amassed 19 first downs, while holding the Eagles to only seven.

The Dawgs also gained 420 yards on the ground on 34 carries, while holding the Eagles to 69 yards on 35 carries. Senior Anthony Landrum lead the rushing attack with 208 yards on 11 carries and four touchdowns.

Johnnie Lockett added 42 yards on two carries and one touchdown, and Demaraquis Williams added 50 yards on four carries and one touchdown.

Jeremy Landrum finished off the rushing attack with 72 yards on two carries and two touchdowns.

Senior Captain Drew Luker finished off the night four for five for 94 yards and a touchdown leaving the Bulldog&8217;s total yardage at 514.

The Bulldog defense held the Eagles to only 154 yards for the game, and negative eight yards for the second half.

The game got started with the Eagles going for it on two consecutive fourth downs.

The first one the Eagles landed, but the second one put the ball into the hands of the Bulldog offense.

They wasted no time, as Anthony Landrum barreled in from 40 yards out for the first score of the night.

The PAT was no good, but the rout was on.

Johnnie Lockett was the second one to grace the end zone, as he scampered in from 21 yards out.

The PAT was good this time, and the score was 13-0. Luker got in the action, as he hit Landrum on a 23- yard out route on third and twenty-five to push the score to 20-0. Landrum found the end zone once again, this time scampering in from 25 yards out.

The PAT was good, and the score was 27-0.

With the Eagles ground game struggling, they tried their luck in the air.

To their dismay, junior cornerback Demaraquis Williams was waiting for them to make this mistake.

He intercepted the pass and rambled inside the Eagles 10-yard line.

From there, Coach Stacy Luker let him finish off what he had started, as he scampered in from six yards out making the score 33-0.

Unfortunately for the Eagles, Landrum was not finished, as he rumbled in from 55 yards out to push the score to 40-0 with 2 minutes left in the first half.

The Eagles scored their only touchdown of the night on a 12-yard pass with 31 seconds left in the half.

The Eagles then attempted and recovered an onside kick at mid-field.

They quickly took to the air again, but Sophomore Linebacker Delano Brewer stepped in front of the pass and returned it to the Eagles 3-yard line.

From there, Landrum struck again with a three-yard plunge to leave the halftime score, 47-7.

The third quarter started similar to the first half.

The Bulldogs drove the ball into Eagles&8217; territory, and Luker found senior receiver Heath Hill for a 47-yard strike.

The PAT was good, and the score stood at 54-7.

From there, Coach Luker substituted in the Junior Varsity, and they were ready to get in on the action.

Sophomore running back Jeremy Landrum made good on his two carries by scoring on runs of 23 and 52 yards leaving the final score, 68-7.
