GREENSBORO &045; DeShay Suzanne Hardy Harless, 29, of Greensboro, died Jan. 1, 2008 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. on Jan. 4, 2008 at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery; the family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the church before service begins. The Revs. Patricia Bruner and Raymond Robertson will be officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing.

Harless was born Jan. 24, 1978 in Tuscaloosa; she was a third grade teacher at Greensboro West Elementary School.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Horace Hardy Sr. and Ruth Hardy and her maternal grandfather Oliver Cook.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Harless, of Greensboro; her parents, Butch and Sue Hardy of Moundville; one , DaWayne Wade Hardy and wife, Tina, of Moundville and their daughter Kayla DaLayne Hardy; her father and mother-in-law Alfred and Linda Harless of the Mount Hermon community of Greensboro; and her maternal grandmother Willa Dean Cook.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association Hale County Relay for Life c/o Brandi Hall 16236 Deer Meadow Lane in Moundville, Ala. 35474.

Honorary pallbearers are the UAB Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and the Tuscaloosa Cancer Care.
