Eagles win even-handed game by two in overtime

A.L. Johnson&8217;s mettle was tested and the group emerged victorious in a nail-biting overtime 46-44 win on the road at Frisco City on Thursday.

The Eagles and the Whippets went blow-for-blow in the even match up. The two teams tied every quarter in the game &8212; 10-10 in the first period, 20-20 in the second, 32-32 in the third stanza and 39-39 ending the fourth period of regulation play &8212; before sending the match up to overtime to decide the victor.

After again going goal for goal and keeping it close, Keonne Boykin hit the winning shot for the Eagles to seal the deal after four minutes of extended play.

Leading scorers for A.L. Johnson were Rob Etheridge with 16, followed by Edwin Dennis with 10. Kiara Love lead the way for Frisco City with 14.

A.L. Johnson&8217;s team plays again today on the road at Sunshine High School, while Frisco City again plays host when Marengo High School comes to town.
