DEMOPOLIS &8212; With a commanding win in the past week over Greenville High School 50-16 and a comeback win over Francis Marion 38-33, Demopolis High School&8217;s girls&8217; team continues to win as their regular season winds down.

But even with the two wins, coach Tony Pittman is looking for improvements from his group as they look to go undefeated in their area during their home game tonight against Greenville and then prepare for the area tournament and playoffs.

Pittman said the team&8217;s defensive success hasn&8217;t stopped the group from continuing to focus on limiting opponent&8217;s scoring. He said defense remains crucial, but noted the group will focus more in the next weeks in incorporating bench players.

In the game against Greenville last Friday, where Jasmine Hardy and Shay Smith lead Lady Tiger scoring with 11 a piece, Pittman&8217;s said the group played like individuals in the first half rather than a team. He said his group made the adjustments they needed at the half though to put up a good second half.

Pittman&8217;s said the close game against Francis Marion was also the result of team mistakes, though the group didn&8217;t adjust until the final minutes of the game. The Tigers finished off the Rams thanks to an 8-0 run by the group in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

The leading scorer for the Blue and White in the Francis Marion road game was Aleshia Arnold with 12.
