DEMOPOLIS &8212; Same story different day.

The Demopolis Tigers played good ball to open their game against Livingston High School, but as the clock ticked away so did their effort. In the end, the group did just enough to hold off a home upset by Livingston in the final minutes of play &8212; something the group couldn&8217;t do in the final minutes on the road against the same team.

Bell said his team missed easy shots that could have put the game away earlier. He said in the team&8217;s final game before the post season, he expects to put in his younger players to give them experience before the playoffs.

The first half of the game was close, with Demopolis in the lead after both quarters though Livingston cut it within two heading into the half.

Demopolis broke out in the third quarter to the tune of 21 points.

In the final quarter the Tigers&8217; defense broke down, as it has in the past and allowed Livingston to go on a 20-point tear of their own. Demopolis weathered the storm and put up 15 points to due the blow, winning 61-56.

Demopolis scoring was led by Casey Cantey with 20 and Brian Taylor with 10, and four other Tigers pulled up third with six points. Livingston was led by Donald Wright with 12, Jeremy Collins with 11 and Sidney Little with 10.
