DEMOPOLIS &045; Police department officials have questioned four juveniles ages 16 and 17 in connection with a weekend shooting spree that left at least 11 vehicles in the downtown and other areas of Demopolis damaged with bullet holes.

According to a release from Director of Public Safety Jeff Manuel, the shootings occurred between 11 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday.

Tom Culpepper, owner of Culpepper Electric in downtown Demopolis, said both of his vehicles were struck by bullets while parked in front of his store on North Walnut Avenue during the weekend.

Four other buildings in the vicinity of his store were also damaged by gunshots, Culpepper said.

Other areas hit by gunfire listed in the release were the 1500 block of Lock Street, the 300 block of South Glover Street, the 300, 500 and 600 blocks of North Main Street, the 300 block of West Decatur Street, the 900 block of Phil Harper Drive, the 500 block of Stewart Street, the 300 block of Maria Avenue and the 300 block of North Commisioner Avenue.

No one was reportedly injured by the shotgun blasts. Manuel said the juveniles are suspected in similar incidents in Greene County.
