MOBILE &8212; The previously undefeated Marengo Academy baseball team dropped its only two games this weekend in the Satchel Paige Invitational at Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile.

The Longhorns committed six errors en route to a 10-6 loss to Faith Academy in the first game. Clayton Crocker pitched well, surrendering only one earned run and striking out five over his five innings of work. Unfortunately for the Horns, defensive lapses lead to a five-run fifth inning for Faith.

His squad was able to string together 10 hits against one of Alabama&8217;s most formidable arms in Stephen Upchurch.

The Longhorns&8217; second game saw Chris Whitaker and Phillip Farmer give up only three earned runs over seven innings. Miscues told the tale again for MA, as the Longhorn defense booted the ball three times to lead to a 5-4 loss at the hands of Florida&8217;s Northview High School. Farmer had a two-hit day, bringing in one Longhorn run in the process. Digman went 1-3 with an RBI. Weldon Fultz knocked in the other two MA runs. Wood Collins went 3-4 on the day.
