BOLIGEE &8212; Velma K. Anthony, 92, of Boligee, died Feb. 23, 2008, at Perry County Nursing Home in Marion. Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the Little Zion Baptist Church in Boligee. The Rev. Willie Carter officiated. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

She was born Aug. 20, 1915, to the late Charlie and Bessie Underwood in Boligee. She was a dedicated member of Greater Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Meridian, Miss. She was employed for many years at Weidman&8217;s Restaurant in Meridian.

Her husband, Porter Anthony, two daughters, Bessie A. Carter and Lillie Mae Patton, siblings, Samuel Knight and Ruffin Knight, one grandson, and one sister, Lucy Knight, all preceded in death.

She is survived by one son, James Porter Anthony and wife, Charlene, of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Rachel Durr and husband, Robert, of Meridian and Alice Anthony of Long Beach, N.Y; two sons-in-law, Henry T. Carter and wife, Helen, of Boligee and James Earl Patton and wife, Lillie Mae, of Meridian; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Junior Ed Foster

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Junior Ed Foster, 63, of Demopolis died Feb. 18, 2008, at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at the Christian Chapel Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Fred Moore officiated. Interment with Full Military Honors followed at Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Foster was the son of the late Vember and Ardelia &8220;Sister&8221; Mitchell.

He attended U.S. Jones High School, retired from the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War and also retired from Chrysler Corporation in Detroit.

Survivors include his three children, Mary Ann Hill and husband, Bob, of Demopolis, Vember Collins of Forkland and Artisha Moore and husband, the Rev. Jerrell, of Birmingham; two stepchildren, Abbie Collins Mays of Detroit and John Collins of Forkland; nine grandchildren; one brother, Johnny Coleman and wife, Ethelrine, of Forkland; one uncle, James Mitchell, of Demopolis; one aunt-in-law, Alberta Mitchell; a friend, David Ash and wife, Ann, of Demopolis and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

Isaiah &8220;Buddy&8221; Ivory

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Isaiah &8220;Buddy&8221; Ivory, 57, of Demopolis died Feb. 28, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Larkin&Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Demopolis. The Rev. Mitchell Congress officiated. Interment followed in Freehope Cemetery in Boligee. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

He was born Sept. 19, 1950, to the late Georgia Ivory. He confessed Christ and joined Christian Valley Baptist Church in Boligee.

His mother, Georgia Ivory and brother, David Rose, preceded him in death.

Survivors include one sister, Christine Thomas and husband, Michael, of Suffolk, Va.; two brothers, Joseph Ivory and wife, Nadeen, Demopolis and Nathaniel Ivory, of Birmingham and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Rosa Hall

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Rosa Hall, of Demopolis, the wife of Roosevelt Hall of Demopolis died recently at Bryan Whitfield Hospital.
