DEMOPOLIS &8212; Friday, March 14 will mark Demopolis&8217; first Midnight 5K run to benefit the American Cancer Society. The event, presented by Brian W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital&8217;s Relay for Life team, will take place at the Sports-Plex.

Registration for the event will open at 11 p.m. on Friday, March 14 with the run beginning at midnight, Saturday, March 15. However, Brooker encourages participants to register early by logging onto the Brian Whitfield Memorial Hospital Web site at www.bwwmh.com, downloading and filling out the appropriate form and mailing it and the $15 registration fee to her. The first 100 runners to register will receive a Midnight 5K Run T-shirt.

The event will offer an array of door prizes like gift certificates and free rounds of golf at The Ravine in addition to awards for top finishers.

The run is co-sponsored by the Cancer Care Center of Demopolis, Marengo Orthopedics, Colony Office Products, the Brian W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Sleep Disorders Center and The Demopolis Times. Anyone seeking more information should contact Brooker at 334-287-2626.
