Annie Pearl Yelverton

UNIONTOWN &8212; Annie Pearl Hoggle Yelverton, 82, a longtime resident of Uniontown, died on April 20, 2008, in Birmingham. Visitation will be from 9:45-10:45 a.m. on Thursday at Uniontown United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jim Waters and Arthur Noland will officiate at the graveside funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown. All will be invited to the church for lunch with the family. Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors of Demopolis are in charge of the services.

Yelverton was born at home on Dec. 23, 1925 in Greensboro to Oscar and Pearl Hoggle.

She grew up with seven brothers and sisters on a country farm.

Preceding her in death where her parents, her husband of 59 years, Albert Thurman Yelverton, her son, Albert &8220;Al&8221; Thurman Yelverton Jr., of Waco, Texas and her two brothers, James Hoggle, of Marion and Stanley Hoggle, of Selma.

Survivors include Deborah Yelverton Carlson and her husband, Greg of Pelham, two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Johnson, of Sawyersville and Betty Elmore of Northport; three brothers, Polly Hoggle, of Uniontown, O&8217;Neal Hoggle, of Selma and Bobby Hoggle, of Tuscaloosa; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UAB Palliative Care Center, Room 219, CH19, 1530 3rd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL, 35294-2041.
