NASHVILLE &8212; Scott R. &8220;Scotty&8221; Burns, 43, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

Graveside services were 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2008, at St. Michaels Episcopal Cemetery in Faunsdale, with the Rev. George McKee officiating and Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.

Survivors include his wife of five years, Meredith Sherling Burns, of Nashville, his father, Don Burns, of Albuquerque, N.M., his mother, Susan Long Burns, of Farmington, N.M., one sister, Cindy Matlock, of Farmington, N.M., one niece and one nephew.

Burns was born in Albuquerque, N.M. and has resided in Nashville for five years where he played the fiddle with many Nashville Country Stars. He was a member of Wentworth Baptist Church in Nashville, Tenn.
