SWEET WATER &8212; The Bulldogs will get an in-game look at its new lineup when it travels to Oxford tonight where they take on 4A Oak Grove High as part of a six-team jamboree event.

The game, which will benefit Kuinn&8217;s Ranch Children&8217;s Home in the Oxford area, will provide Luker the chance to properly assess how far his personnel must go for the team to return to championship form.

The Bulldog offensive line features four new starters. According to Luker, the gelling of the group is a process.

In addition to the new offensive front, Sweet Water will have new players handling the ball after the departure of backfield mainstays Drew Luker and Anthony Landrum, who have moved on to the collegiate level.

Getting the start under center tonight will be Demarcus Williams. The senior-to-be has logged significant time in the defensive secondary since his eighth-grade year, a fact that boosts the coach&8217;s belief in him.

The filling of Landrum&8217;s shoes will be a slightly more complex task. The Bulldogs have adopted a running-back-by-committee approach that will split carries between Johnny Lockett, Jeremy Landrum and Chris Landrum. Luker&8217;s expectation is for Lockett to receive a slight majority of touches in the contest.

While the spring game is an exhibition that provides an ample opportunity for assessment, Sweet Water enters it with the same must-win approach that has defined its program for years.

The game also keeps Sweet Water in line with its usual method of playing a larger classification for its exhibition and out-of-region games.

His team&8217;s first test of the 2008 season will kick off at 5:30 p.m.
