As take title in Cal Ripken 7 and 8

DEMOPOLIS &8212; A two-run, last at-bat rally by the Athlete&8217;s Foot A&8217;s handed the top-seeded squad the 7-8-year-old age division championship with a 10-9 win Thursday night.

The A&8217;s other game ball went to Dalton Holtzclaw whose single to left plated Miller King to win the game.

The A&8217;s were close to scoring the winning run one play earlier before Mariners catcher Williams Wilkins made a stellar play of the plate, fielding the ball of a hop and tagging the runner out at the plate.

The game marked the culmination of the age bracket&8217;s campaign, seeing the A&8217;s finish as regular season and tournament champions.

The A&8217;s finished their season at 11-2-1 while the Mariners wrapped theirs up with a record of 7-6-1.

Following the game, the league announced its all-star selections for the age division. Among them was Mariners standout Carson Crawford.

The league selected 13 players for its all-star team, getting at least one player from each squad in the division.
