David and Gail Gardner of Myrtlewood, announce the engagement of their daughter, Chesta Alana Gardner, to Chadwick Dewayne Champion, son of Glenn and Araina Champion, of Cottondale.

The wedding will be at 4 p.m. on June 21 at Myrtlewood Baptist Church in Myrtlewood. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Melvin Gibbs and the late Ruth Gibbs of Linden, and the late Jesse &8220;Bo&8221; Gardner and R. T. Gardner of Myrtlewood.

She is a 1998 graduate of Marengo Academy and attended the University of West Alabama, where she received a bachelor&8217;s and master&8217;s degree in Elementary Education. She is employed by the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education at Lloyd Wood Middle School.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Jim and Gertrude Champion of Northport and the late Arthur Clark Sr. and Alma Clark of Tuscaloosa. He is a 1997 graduate of Holt High School, attended the University of West Alabama, and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in physical therapy. He is employed at DCH Regional Medical Center.
