Good news can be found all around Demopolis most any week. But because of an article written last week in The Times by Kelli Wright, some good news was passed on to us. Wright reported last week about the Demopolis Animal Shelter. The shelter houses more than 20 dogs and other animals each day. Because of Wright&8217;s article, shelter worker Lucille Carpenter said the facility has received much positive response. The shelter is also seeking to join the Bigbee Humane Society, an organization made up of Marengo, Sumter and Greene County residents. The organization will soon be open for membership and begin seeking funds. We encourage you to do your part to support the shelter and protect Demopolis&8217; animals.
