GALLION &8212; Dorothy Fikes Combs, 79, of Gallion, died July 7, 2008, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Kidd-Robbins Chapel in Demopolis with Dr. Rex Kent officiating. Burial will be held at the Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Kidd Robbins Funeral Directors will be in charge of the services.

She is a native of Greensboro. Combs was employed with Vanity Fair for 42 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Uniontown.

Combs is survived by her daughter, Jean C. Dean, and husband, Donnie, of Gallion; her son, Michael E. Combs, of Gallion; sisters, Lily Buford, of Greensboro and R.T. Gardner, of Myrtlewood; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Royce Nelson, Donnie Cannon, Billy Mack Johnson, Jody Scarbrough, Wesley Scarbrough and Timothy Lyons Jr.
