Eva Lou Ballard

Eva Lou Rayfield Ballard, 80, of Akron, Ala., died July 20 at the Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Ballard was born Nov. 5, 1927 in Hale County to Carl Dawson and Eva Thomas Rayfield. She worked as the school secretary at Akron Elementary School.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 at Akron Baptist Church. Brother Bryan Allen will preside. Ballard will be buried at Mt. Hebron Cemetery following the service. Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directs the services.
The family will receive friends at the church at 1 p.m. prior to the service.
Ballard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John A. Ballard; two sisters, Allene Rayfield and Evely Seale; two brothers, Tom Allen Rayfield and Durall Rayfield.
She is survived by three daughters: Evely Sharon (Roger) Arrington, Akron; Carla Ray Ballard of Akron and Terri Ballard (Brent) Lashley of Eutaw; two sisters, Mary Wadley and Luise Seale, both of Akron; and two brothers: Carl Edward Rayfield, Yazoo City, Miss., and Robert Hall (Mary Lou) Rayfield; two grandchildren: Bethany Allene Arrington and Brenna Amanda Lashley.
Pallbearers are her nephews, Charles M. Seale, Edwin Seal, Carl Edward Rayfield Jr., Robert (Ray) Rayfield, Robert (Bobby) Wadley and William (Billy) Wadley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa AL 35404.
