A hometown tradition is back in business in Eutaw, as the Cotton Patch restaurant reopened on Aug. 12.

The restaurant, located just off of Exit 45 on I-20/59, closed on March 30, after being sold to Sidetrack LLC in January. The restaurant reopened with some changes to the interior, but the same food its patrons have come to enjoy.

“We did some work on the inside,” said manager Virginia Holley, “but that’s the only difference.” The new ownership also dropped “Baggett’s” from the title, making the name simply “The Cotton Patch.”

Its menu remains unchanged, featuring chicken, steaks and seafood with enough side dishes to satisfy any appetite.

The restaurant’s customers have steadily been coming back since its reopening.

“We’ve been doing pretty good,” Holley said.

The restaurant specializes in dinner meals, open from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 5 to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Sidetrack LLC bought the 36-acre plot that included the restaurant for $630,000.
