Luke Hallmark elected to educational board

Luke Hallmark, Superintendent of Marengo County Schools, has been elected School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA) Director of the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) Board of Directors.

CLAS is the statewide professional organization for school and school system administrators consisting of more than 3,000 members. The SSA is the professional association for Alabama’s superintendents and an affiliate of CLAS.

“Luke Hallmark will be an excellent leader for CLAS,” praised Executive Director L. Earl Franks. “He will continue the CLAS standard of putting children first.”

Hallmark, who is currently in his ninth year as superintendent of the county schools, will serve as the representative of the state’s top school administrators.

“I’ll sit on the board and be the representative for the state’s superintendents of education,” he said.

CLAS coordinates and facilitates the resources of all members for the advancement of public education. CLAS members support child advocacy and quality professional development as the two most important functions of this umbrella organization. It is an umbrella association that serves eleven different affiliates comprised of Alabama’s public school administrators. CLAS is dedicated to providing the framework to connect dedicated school administrators and other successful leaders with a network for professional growth and support.
