Evelyn Tate

Evelyn J. Tate, 90, passed away Sept. 16, 2008 at the Marengo Nursing Home. She was a native of Indianola, Miss. and a resident of Forkland.
Mrs. Tate was a member of Forkland United Methodist Church. During World War II she was a civilian instructor for the military. In addition, she was a homemaker and a noted local artist. Graveside services will be held Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Forkland Cemetery with Rev. David Murray officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.O. Tate and a brother, William E. Johnson. She is survived by a son, James. E. (Tammie) Tate, of Forkland; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Garry Phillips, Kenny Phillips, Bill McCarter, Bayne Etheridge, Morris Allen and Ray McCarter. In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the Forkland Cemetery, P.O. Box 125, Forkland, AL 36740. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors, Demopolis directing.
