See you at the polls

I’ve never made it a secret that I am pretty much the polar opposite of anything political.

Nothing about politics interests me.

However, I am usually a faithful voter.

Just because the electoral process doesn’t interest me doesn’t mean that I don’t want to do my part to select qualified leadership.

This year will mark the first presidential election in which I will not be able to participate.

There are handful of things Tiffany and I were not able to move upon our arrival to Demopolis and we weren’t able to establish a residence and move our registration quick enough. The drive to vote would take nearly three hours, one way, so we’re going to sit on the sidelines this year.

I can’t say I’m too disappointed. I’ve done as much reading about our two presidential candidates as anyone and I honestly couldn’t tell you whom I’d vote for.

Both candidates have their good qualities but neither seems to have that one great quality that leads you to believe they are the person to put this country back on track.

I never read or heard anything that really struck me or made me feel any better about anything.

As a nation, we’re facing some difficult times. We’ve been entrenched in some difficult times for nearly a year and who knows when they’ll get better. For those of you who have done this research and made your decisions, I thank you for casting your vote today.

I hope to see you at the polls in four more years.
