The Marengo County Cattlemen’s Association will host a steak sandwich sale Saturday beginning at 8 a.m., next to the Bank Trust office located in downtown Demopolis.

County Association President Jared Hasty said all the proceeds will go toward scholarships provided to Marengo County students.

“Last year we presented our first scholarship and it was for $1000,” he said. “What we’re hoping to do is raise enough money to give out more than one.”

Children of any Marengo County Cattleman are eligible for the scholarship, but the student must live in the county.

Hasty said Saturday, each sandwich would cost $9 and would include chips and a drink. The sale will conclude Saturday afternoon following the parade.
