A third suspect in connection with the murder of two local men last month has been found already in custody and is waiting to be charged by the Demopolis Police Department.

Chief Tim Williams said the suspect, whose identity has been withheld, is currently facing other charges from a separate agency.

The suspect is expected to be charged with capital murder here.

“We should be able to serve our warrant sometime next week,” Williams said. “It’s not like we have a suspect on the loose. We know where he is; we are just waiting our turn to get him.”

Last week, Jeremy Joshua Bell, 20, of Demopolis was arrested and charged with capital murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Richard Carl Perry, 48, of Demopolis was also arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

“The case is still under investigation by the Demopolis Police Department and the Marengo County Sheriff’s Department,” Williams said. “We should have more details soon.”

The arrests of the other two suspects came just more than one week after Henry Green, 22, of Demopolis and Ron Elmore, 35, of Demopolis were gunned down in front of 722 E. Decatur St. in Demopolis Nov. 13.
