William Bernard Burroughs

William Bernard Burroughs, age 79, died on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Encore Senior Village in Escambia, Fla.
Mr. Burroughs was a native of Buhl, Ala., and a resident of Pensacola, Fla., where he was a retired teacher from the public school system in Pensacola. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in Greene County with the Rev. Ed Pickel officiating.
The Burroughs family will receive friends at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel in Demopolis on Sunday, Jan. 25, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah (Peter) Clements of Merritt Island, Fla.; one son, William Wade Burroughs of Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Juanita Henderson of Eutaw, Elizabeth (Bert) Canady of Riviera, Texas, Ann (Jimmy) Overby of Edgemoor, S.C.; three brothers, Judd (Mildred) Burroughs of Pineapple, James Revis (Mary) Burroughs of Eutaw and John Edward (Lucille) Burroughs of Buhl; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made to UAB Dept. of Neurology, Alzheimer’s Research, 1530 3rd Ave. South, SC 350B, Birmingham, AL 35294-0017.
