Robert Barnett

Robert E. Barnett, age 59, died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Barnett was born in Butler and resided in the Demopolis area for the past 25 years. He was an electrician, a Vietnam Marine veteran, where he was discharged as a corporal after two years of service, and retired from the U.S. Army National Guard after more than 18 years of service. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Gallion and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alfred Ashworth, the Rev. Allen Richards and the Rev. Ed Pickel officiating.
Interment will follow in Hoboken Cemetery at 4041 Nicholsville Road in Sweet Water, with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors directing services. Graveside military honors will be presented by the U.S. Army honor guard.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 26, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Barnett, and two sisters, Frances Dennison and Margarite Lynn.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Deborah Lolley Barnett of Demopolis; two sons, Robin (Ginger) Barnett of Linden and Christopher (Elia) Barnett of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Angel (Preston) Honeycutt of Gallion; his mother, Cecil Barnett of Livingston; six grandchildren, Dylan Barnett, William Barnett, Hunter Barnett, Judene Barnett, DeAnn Honeycutt and Sam Honeycutt; five sisters, Madeline (Richard) Thurn of Livingston, Sue (Rick) German of Tennessee, Marie (David) Posey of Huntsville, and Grace Wilkerson and Betty (Winfred) Traylor, both of Sweet Water; three brothers, Morris (Joyce) Jordan of Uniontown, Ernest (Genevieve) Jordan of Monroeville and John (Peggy) Barnett of Little Rock, Ark.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Deas, Tim Lolley, Don Lolley, Billy Harrell, David Dixon, Mike Claunch, Jackie Poole and Norbert Gramatzki
