DHS soccer loses to John Carroll

The DHS soccer lost to area foe John Carroll 9-0 at home Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers trailed only 3-0 at half before allowing JCHS to score six goals in the second half.

“We had them 3-0 at halftime. I couldn’t have been more proud,” DHS head coach Peter Keen said. “Once we got back in there and they got the two goals right off the bat, everything kind of fell apart. If you don’t beat the team to the ball, especially a team like this, you will lose.”

While decisive, the loss shows an improvement over the 2008 team, which failed to go the distance against John Carroll.

“We are improving,” Keen said. “There’s no question about it.”

Keen’s team, which will play at Walker Friday night, goes back to work today.

“Formation,” Keen said of one of his squad’s focal points during upcoming practices. “They panicked and got out of formation.”
