Michael Luker

Michael H. Luker, age 57, of Cankton, La., formerly of Demopolis, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Doctor’s Hosptial in Opelousas, La.
He was a native of Demopolis, and had been a resident of Cankton for more than 15 years.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 1, at 3 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro, La. Interment was in the Evangeline Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation was held from Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Melancon Funeral Home of Canencro directed the services.
Survivors include his mother, Jimmy Luker of Demopolis; three stepsons, Blake Mouton, Troy Mouton and Bryant (Rachel) Mouton, all of Opelousas; two stepdaughters, Veronica Mouton (Dale) Chiasson of Sunset and Stacy Richard of Church Point; three sisters, Barbara (David) Turner and Becky (Houston) Fowler, both of Demopolis, and Sian Luker of Cleveland, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Dorothy Faul Luker, his father, Grover Luker and a step-grandson, Brandon Richard.
