Tennis scores win

Demopolis tennis won all 11 of its matches Tuesday, beating Central-Tuscaloosa on the road.

“I thought we did a good job of trying to play to our best,” DHS head coach Jeremy Sullivan said. “I thought our kids did a great job of playing to the best of their abilities and not letting the other team’s level of play affect their effort.”

Walker McNeill, Dominique Benison and Neilsen Renner each won their matches in straight sets, recording 6-0, 6-0 victories.

Hillary Stapp won 6-1, 6-0. Sidney Hill won 6-0, 6-1. Shamoneka Collins won 6-1, 6-1. Alexa Beach and Sarah Martin Stapp each won 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles action, Avery Duckworth and Trent Blackwood teamed up for a 6-4, 6-1 win. Hillary Stapp and Beach paired up for a 6-1, 6-1 win. Tera Schroeder and Elizabeth Manning won 6-4, 6-1 in their match.

Drew Mercer played an exhibition match, picking up a 6-0 win in his effort.

The Tigers host West Lauderdale Saturday.
