Marion Washburn

Marion Wilson Washurn, age 72, of Demopolis died on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at his residence.
He was a native of Hale County and retired from Gulf States after 33 years of service as a millwright. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Demopolis and served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Demopolis with the Rev. Rex Kent officiating. Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Greensboro. The family received friends at the church on Monday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Alice H. Washburn of Demopolis; three daughters, Debra (Phillip) Spence and Wanda (Taylor) Dunklin), both of Demopolis, and Sherrie (Win Westbrook of Montgomery; two sons, Joey Washburn of Demopolis and Wayne (Lynn) Cross of Linden; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty (Maurice) Hughey of Greensboro; and two brothers, Tommy (Regina) Washburn of Greensboro and Glenn (Glenda) Washburn of Conyers, Ga.
Pallbearers were Sam Spence, Jeremiah Dial, Kyle Westbrook, Blake Westbrook, Grey Westbrook, Cody Cross and Dylan Cross. Honorary pallbearers were the Andrew Sunday school class of First Baptist Church of Demopolis and golfing friends from the Demopolis Country Club.
