The Tigers hit the ground running again today when they travel to Pelham for their first track meet in nearly two weeks.

“We’re just looking for them to keep improving,” DHS track coach Rudy Griffin said of his team. “We’ve had a little layoff since our last track meet due to Prom and bad weather. We just want to keep improving. That’s our goal.”

Griffin said he anticipates eight teams participating in the Pelham meet, which will be one of the team’s final tune-ups before it competes in sectionals April 24-25.

“They’re still working hard,” Griffin said. “They’re getting that little itch now for competition. They have been working really hard. I’m very pleased with them.”

At sectionals, Demopolis competitors will be afforded the opportunity to qualify for state championship competition.
