The committee chairs are almost all in place. The day parade committee has already had a workshop, and the night parade committee has already selected its new floats.

It’s not even May yet, and Christmas on the River is already in the air.

Demopolis’s annual weeklong festival will begin on Sunday, Nov. 29, and will culminate with the famous night parade on the river on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing to send out sponsorship letters and to host another day parade workshop sometime in May.

Small wonder that the festival brings thousands of visitors each year, with this kind of preparation and forethought.

Although the committee chair spots have almost been filled, there is lots of room for volunteers to help prepare Demopolis’s hallmark festival.

If you have time, materials, talents or donations to give, anything you have to give would be welcome.
