Lillian Eileen Jones Kane, age 78, died on Friday, May 22, 2009.
She was a member of the Music Study Club, where she served as president two times. She was also a member and former board member of the Canebrake Players of Demopolis. She has also served on the board of trustees for the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the board of directors for the Tombigbee Girl Scouts Council and as a leader with the Girl Scouts in Demopolis. She also served as the City of Demopolis arts committee chair, a two-time president of the Women of Trinity church and a president of the 6th District Dental Auxiliary.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, at 3 p.m. a St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Joe Knight officiating. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the church in Parrish Hall. Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home is directing the services.
Survivors include her children, Michael (Deborah) Kane and Faye Kane Clements; and her grandchildren, Lamar B.P. Kane, Spec. Charles Gregory Clements and Eileen Rutledge Clements.
Pallbearers will be Michael Kane, Lamar Kane, Dan Gentry, Chip Hinson and Lloyd Eicher.
