Dear editor, the Times,

On behalf of the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce I would like to thank everyone who came out to the 2009 Freedom on the River festivities! This year’s events included the Children’s Patriotic Parade, food and activity vendors and the Rock Tenn Freedom Fireworks Extravaganza.

We had a great event this year and it would not have been possible without the support of our generous sponsors and volunteers.

I would like to thank Alabama Power, BankTrust, Cemex, Collins Communications, Foster Farms, New Era Cap Co., Demopolis Rotary Club, Robertson Banking Company, Verizon Wireless, the Demopolis Civitan Club and Rock Tenn for donating of their time and resources to make this event a special one – year after year.

We are so lucky to be part of a community where the businesses contribute so generously to the quality of life and continue to make this area a great place to live, work and play!
