UWA to have registration at Demopolis Higher Education Center

University of West Alabama admissions and financial aid personnel will be on campus on Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon in the front lobby of the Demopolis Higher Education Campus adjacent to the Sports-Plex.

Registration for the fall semester will take place on campus all day on Friday, Aug. 14. Regions Bank of Demopolis will provide lunch for the campus that day.

For the fall semester, UWA will offer an array of basic courses to include accounting, microcomputer applications, philosophy, theatre, literature, psychology and speech.

The fall schedule can be picked up on campus, or viewed online at www.uwa.edu.

Graduate courses for educators will be offered in the evening, including advanced educational psychology and corrective/remedial reading.

For the first time at the Demopolis campus, technology courses will be offered. Planned courses include basic blueprint reading and drafting, an electronics course and a course called Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response.

UWA plans to expand the dual enrollment program and continue the successful relationship that it has with Demopolis High School, as well as expanding its outreach to other area high schools. Some scholarships will be available for dual enrollment students.

UWA is making plans to hold sports events and other campus activities in Demopolis, and information about these activities will be forthcoming.
