Funeral services for Mary Lue McCalpine of Greensboro were held on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 1 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Sawyerville. The Rev. Larry Williams officiated. Interment followed in Martin Cemetery in Meltin. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Edward Coleman.
Survivors include six children, Annie Lee Coleman of Birmingham, Lovell (Sarah) McCalpine of Greensboro, Ezell (Guster) McCalpine of Greensboro, Abraham (Lucille) McCalpine of Greensboro, Jerome (Gidget) McCalpine of McDonough, Ga., and Wanda (Lorenzo) Miller of Tuscaloosa; a grandson, J.C. (Sylvia) McCalpine of Greensboro; a special friend, Julia L. McCalpine of Greensboro; 40 other grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; 65 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
