Vennie Loise Oglesby, age 84, of Gallion passed on Sept. 16, 2009, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Shawn Oglesby and Billy Ray Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Alton Mathew Oglesby of Gallion; three daughters, Frances Smith Spidle of Gallion, Elizbeth Oglesby (Micky) Rayford of Greensboro and Christine Oglesby of Lebanon, Maine; six sons, Buddy (Pattie) Oglesby of Selma, Nolly (Hilda) Oglesby of Lowndesboro, R.C. (Delain) Oglesby of Valley Grande, Daniel (Sherry) Oglesby of Woodstock, Ga., Ronald (Pat) Oglesby of Valley Grande and Norman (Diane) Oglesby of Orrville; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, Sept. 18, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.
Pallbearers were Benny Oglesby, Bobby Oglesby, Paul Oglesby, Jerry Oglesby, Darrin Flowers and Adam McClellan.
