Sweet Water knocked off Louisiana powerhouse Bastrop last week, winning 24-12 and holding the Rams to minus-42 yards rushing. Bastrop, a school of nearly 1,000 students, brought seven charter buses to tiny Sweet Water for the game. The Bulldogs’ (5-1) reward? Stacy Luker’s squad received 35 of 36 first-place votes this week in Class 1A.

Linden’s congratulations for beating regional foe Maplesville was the No. 2 spot in 1A and one first place vote.
